IMAGINE LIVE By Jolyon James
Family Theatre
It’s about animals!... It's about Imagination!... It’s about our Home!
IMAGINE LIVE is a 60-minute stage adaptation of Alison Lester's award winning children's book, Imagine - a bestseller since its first publication in 1989.
Never before has children's theatre included such innovative artistically rigorous work using cutting edge body mapping digital puppetry, face recognition technology, animation, original music and participatory storytelling.
Magical and meaningful, IMAGINE LIVE is a celebration of creativity, friendship and our precious natural world. With the help of the audience, performers play and sing their way through the pages of Imagine and quickly discover there are WAY more to these pages than they first thought.
Relevant to multi-generational and diverse audiences, IMAGINE LIVE is a reminder that connection, creativity and play are essential ingredients for positive mental health.

The Owl's Apprentice
Family Theatre
Owl's aren't born wise you know, they have to learn it from somewhere.
A young owl named Poot Poot has been sent to Owl School to learn to become wise. He’s not like the other owls: he doesn’t know how to fly, he misses his family, he just wants to go home. He knows the only way he can go home is by gaining “wisdom,” but he doesn’t even know what that is.
The Owl’s Apprentice is a voyage into a gorgeous realm of shadow puppetry. It also acts as a creative catalyst for a discussion about resilience and lifelong learning and explores the unique biology of Australian animals. On Poot Poot's journey, he finds that wisdom isn’t just one thing, it’s many things. It’s a collection of all the little things you learn every day. But when a bushfire threatens the Owl School, will Poot Poot be able to use his newly gained wisdom to save the forest?
