In January 2027, House of Fast Fashun will transform Berninneit into an interactive world where art, performance, sustainability and self-expression collide. Presented by Melbourne's acclaimed Fast Fashun collective, this free, hands-on experience invites people of all ages to create wearable artworks from reclaimed clothing and textile waste before stepping into the spotlight during a live runway show.

Whether you're an experienced maker or you've never picked up a needle and thread, everyone is welcome. In fact, if you can use a safety pin, you're already halfway there!

Part workshop, part performance, and part interactive art installation, House of Fast Fashun is a celebration of creativity and community.

Working with a colourful collection of recycled fabrics, garments and textiles, you'll design your own one-of-a-kind fashion creation with guidance from the Fast Fashun artists. Along the way, you'll explore the impact of fast fashion while discovering just how much potential exists in materials that might otherwise end up in landfill.

Then, every hour on the hour, the runway comes alive.

Music plays. The audience gathers. Participants are invited to showcase their creations in an inclusive, joyful catwalk celebrating imagination over perfection.

Fast Fashun is an experimental art collective from Naarm (Melbourne) creating large-scale installations, performances and public interventions that challenge consumer culture through satire, spectacle and sustainability.

Blending theatre, visual art and social practice, the collective transforms fashion waste into playful, participatory experiences where audiences are encouraged to cut, rip, pin and create. Their work centres queer and disabled experiences while creating welcoming spaces where everyone belongs.

Their acclaimed projects have appeared at Sydney Festival, Melbourne Fashion Festival, Midsumma, Geelong Design Week, South Side Festival and many more, earning awards and praise for creating experiences that are fun, empowering and thought-provoking.
