Join us for a special Living Earth Gathering presented in partnership with Phillip Island Conservation Society as part of artist Hoa Nguyen’s solo exhibition Becoming the Forest.

Artist, activist and ecofeminist, Hoa Nguyen presents three new large-scale drawings that celebrates the forest ecosystems of Bass Coast. Through this exhibition, Hoa expresses her deep love and reverence for this place. During her Visiting Artist Residency at Berninneit Art Studio in February this year, Hoa connected with members of the Phillip Island Conservation Society through a shared passion for the Western Port Woodlands and commitment to environmental advocacy for all ecosystems.

Together, we invite you to celebrate the Western Port Biosphere (Warn Marin), advocate for its ongoing protection, welcome home the migratory birds and listen to the stories of the forest.

The gathering will begin with a colourful procession from the Grand Hall to the Art Gallery, followed by a Deep Listening Circle surrounded by Hoa Nguyen’s expansive forest drawings.
The afternoon will then conclude with tea and conversation.
