About the Exhibition:
Kelp and the Sentient Sea is inspired by the incredible marine life of the Bass Coast, the Yallock Bulluk Marine Park. Kim McDonald and Jasmine Susic are artists who share a connection to the ocean, reflected in their collaborative art practice through printmaking, film, dance and installation. Both artists are inspired by the Bunurong and Gunaikurnai oceans and coastlines where they live – and are daily immersed in the oceanic environment. This exhibition creates a sensory experience to heighten awareness of kelp forests and the sentience of the sea, its life force, power, energy and dynamism.

Performance & Artist Talk:
Sat 25 October 2025, 2-4pm
Join artists Jasmine and Kim as they explore the mystery and power of the ocean through an interdisciplinary performance combining dance, printmaking, and projection. Inspired by the marine life and coastal landscapes of the Bass Coast, this event invites audiences into a sensory experience that deepens connection to place and oceanic awareness.
