About

Wonthaggi Community Arts Centre is set to host an extraordinary event on Saturday, 11th  May 2024, as Queen Forever brings their “A Night at the Theatre” tour to the largest town  in South Gippsland. This visit marks a unique opportunity for Wonthaggi, a seaside town  with a rich history rooted in coal mining and now a hub for tourism, beef, and dairy  industries, to experience the magic of Queen, one of the greatest bands of all time.

The show, led by the incredibly talented Gareth Hill as Freddie Mercury, promises not only  a spot-on portrayal but also an engaging, fun, and cheeky performance that has earned  him the title of the most entertaining Freddie Mercury impersonator worldwide. Alongside  him, Scott Bastian captures the essence of Sir Brian May’s guitar genius, while Brad  Hodgkinson brings to life the indomitable spirit of Roger Taylor on the drums. Darryn  McLaughlin’s solid performance as John Deacon and Danny Oakhill’s masterful keyboard  skills as Spike Edney complete this stellar lineup, ensuring an unforgettable night of music  and entertainment.

This highly interactive and theatrical show will take the audience on a journey through  Queen's legendary career, featuring all the greatest hits such as "Killer Queen,"  "Bohemian Rhapsody," and "We Will Rock You," as well as delving into some of Queen's  deep cuts for the hardcore fans. The setlist spans all genres of Queen's music, from the  glam rock of their early days to the hard rock classics and the anthemic hits of their later  years. “A Night At The Theatre” is more than a concert; it’s a chronological exploration of  Queen's career, with state-of-the-art stage production, costumes, and lighting designed  to transport you through the different eras of the band’s history.

Set against the backdrop  of Wonthaggi, a town named from the Boonwurrung language meaning "home," this  event promises to merge the local cultural heritage with the timeless appeal of Queen’s  music. Don’t miss this unparalleled night at the Wonthaggi Community Arts Centre, where Queen  Forever will captivate the audience with the sights and sounds of Queen at their peak.  This event is a testament to Wonthaggi's growing significance in the arts and culture  landscape, offering a night of music, fun, and nostalgia suitable for all ages.

Grab your  tickets now and be part of this unforgettable experience, celebrating the legacy of one of  the world’s most iconic bands in the heart of Gippsland.
