Puppetry of Paper Workshop - Little Wing Puppets

Scrunch, rip, twist, tear! 

How many things can you do with a piece of paper?  This workshop is based on Bunraku-style puppetry, a traditional Japanese form of theatre which involves three puppeteers working closely together to operate one puppet.  Workshop participants will first work in groups to make a unique puppet out of paper. They will then learn techniques for bringing their puppet to life, as a team. Each group will work on short performances which are presented to the group. 

Participants will leave the workshop with a range of skills, which can be applied to any kind of puppetry.  

Children 6 and under to be accompanied by an adult holding a paid ticket.

Tickets to events at Berninneit can be pre-purchased online and in person at the Bass Coast Shire Council Customer and Visitor Service, open daily at Berninneit, see hours here. Available tickets can also be purchased prior to screenings and performances. Doors open 30 minutes prior to cinema sessions and 60 minutes prior to live performances. We strongly recommend that you pre-purchase tickets ahead of time to avoid disappointment.
