Join us for the 2024 Festival of Stories in Berninneit, Cowes, from 2-4 August! 

Immerse yourself in a weekend of captivating storytelling, featuring renowned authors, filmmakers, and journalists.

Kick off the festival on Friday evening with a special screening of 'The Dressmaker.' On Saturday, enjoy sessions with Sue Maslin and Rosalie Ham discussing the making of the film, Veronica Gorrie sharing insights from her powerful memoir 'Black and Blue,' and more. Engage with celebrated figures like Hannie Rayson, Kerry O’Brien, and Rosie Batty throughout the day. Sunday promises thought-provoking panels on journalism, storytelling, and self-perception with speakers like Jacinta Parsons, Robyn Davidson, and Wendy Harmer.

  • 12:00 PM - 12:45 PM - Black and Blue (Theatre): Veronica Gorrie discusses her memoir on racism and resilience, joined by Patrick Coleridge, Barrister assisting the Coroner in the Kumanjayi Walker Inquest in Alice Springs.

Berninneit is located at 91-97 Thompson Ave, Cowes and operated for the community by Bass Coast Shire Council. 

Please arrive early to ensure you have time to purchase drinks and snacks and find a seat. Limited accessible and wheelchair seating available. Companion tickets available via box-office with valid companion card. All tickets are non-refundable.
