Bass Coast Ballet School - Annual Dance Concert 2023

As a not-for-profit school, Bass Coast Ballet Schools’ mission is to offer quality dance classes at affordable prices to the families and community of Bass Coast. The school has been operating for 28 years and is run and managed by a volunteer committee.

Our teachers are dedicated to their roles of assisting young dancers to experience and enjoy the many different types of dance we offer and our students range from beginners to those more experienced with ages ranging from 2 years of age to adults.

Bass Coast Ballet School enjoys small classes with no more than ten dancers in each as we believe that quality instruction is preferable to numbers.

Our concert this year focuses on students showcasing their ability to learn dance steps and combine these together in a dance alongside other students.

Dance genres on display at the concert will include, ballet, jazz, tap, contemporary, lyrical, and hip hop, as well as theatrical jazz which is based around musical theatre.

Through combination classes where we teach multiple genres of dance in their class time, our junior and intermediate students will have several opportunities to perform, and our tween and senior students will showcase the many types of dance they have learnt over the years.

Our “Big' ballet showcasing Disney Princesses will start the concert and all ages of students studying ballet will come on stage together in a fantastic display of collaboration. Other highlights include a mixed age combination Hip Hop display, songs from the musicals Aladdin and Matilda, a little bit of Christmas and many happy and joyful songs as well as a couple of solo’s from our senior students.

If you or your children are interested in dance whether it be for the exercise, interest or just a joy in music and movement, come and see our concert, it will showcase what we love, what we do and how we do it.

The Wonthaggi Union Community Arts Centre and cinema opens 30 minutes prior to a cinema sessions and 60 minutes prior to a live performances. We strongly recommend that you pre-purchase tickets ahead of time to avoid disappointment. Accessible seating is available.
