AMPLIFY- We Have Always Been Here [Wonthaggi]

AMPLIFY meets weekly at headspace Wonthaggi where they brainstorm themes and ideas around bringing these events to life. 

With the help of our friends at the Wonthaggi Union Community Arts Centre, we are thrilled to announce our next event (which looks specifically at gender experiences and gender expression in LGBTIQA+ youth) will be hosted on the 9th of November.

A panel discussion with our AMPLIFY youth group members and special guests like Sally Conning, who is a local trans elder.

We will also be joined by 3 wonderful Drag Queens performers who are providing exciting and thrilling entertainment after the panel discussion.

AMPLIFY is a small LGBTIQA+ group, aged 12 to 25, from Bass Coast and South Gippsland, and were the recipients of the 2022 Hey (Healthy Equal Youths) grant, which comprised of $10,000 funding to create educational, inclusive and collaborative events for our community. The group has been youth led, voted on by youth, and designed by youth.

Please note: our performances will be appropriate for audiences 12 years and above.

The Wonthaggi Union Community Arts Centre and cinema opens 30 minutes prior to a cinema sessions and 60 minutes prior to a live performances. We strongly recommend that you pre-purchase tickets ahead of time to avoid disappointment. Accessible seating is available.

The Wonthaggi Union Community Arts Centre is located at 96 Graham St, Wonthaggi and operated for the community by Bass Coast Shire Council.
