About

AMPLIFY is a small LGBTQIA+ group, aged 12 to 25, from Bass Coast and South Gippsland, and are the recipients of the 2022 and 2023 Healthy Equal Youths Grant, which comprised of $10,000 funding to create educational, inclusive and collaborative events for our community.

Previously we have hosted a panel discussion night, drag queen event, guest speakers, an art and talent show and film screenings. We are thrilled to be presenting our next screening of ‘Who I Am’ on February 28th. There will be two screenings of this event in the hopes that it can accommodate more people.

This youth led group AMPLIFY meets weekly at headspace Wonthaggi where they brainstorm themes and ideas around bringing these events to life. With the help of Wonthaggi Union Community Arts Centre, the group has been able to put on four free and inclusive events for the community.

Our events are appropriate for all ages 12 and upwards and we encourage families to come along with their kids to promote further safe and comfortable conversations about queer, gender and transgender identity/experiences within the home.
